“Anarchy is Order without power” - Proudhon
We organise the Red and Black Umbrella through consensus decision making – a process through which people can talk openly about their opinions, and then decisions are reached that everyone is happy with.
Some more on consensus decision making.
Meetings at the Red and Black Umbrella happen at least once a month. These meetings have been called ‘Social Centre meetings’, ‘Open meetings’, ‘Tea, cake and chat’ and since March 2014, ‘General Meetings’.
In October 2014 it was decided that they would happen every two weeks.
In January 2015 it was decided to move meetings to Wednesday nights.
In March 2015 it was decided to move meetings again, next meeting is due to be confirmed as Tuesday 7th April.
Minutes of General Meetings can be found here:
In November 2014 it was decided that minutes would no longer be put online and would be kept in a log-book on top of the Radical Library in the main room of the Social Centre.
We have working groups that can be contacted to get involved in.
