The Red and Black Café

The Red and Black Umbrella is open every Saturday for a free drop-in café. Come along between 3pm and 6pm for free tea, vegan snacks and gak. Bookworms can browse the info-shop, radical library or the new zine library and the free shop will also be open for general browsing and ‘tat’ ‘recycling’ each week.

Each week will be different depending on who comes – it’s an event run by everyone and anyone – so feel free to showcase your abilities if it’s something that you can teach others. We want to share this free-space with others for workshops, skill shares and activities.

Dogs – welcome – but please let us know in advance.

Specific events may occur on certain weeks and we will try to keep them updated online.

Renewable Energy and Sustainability Workshop

Every Sunday from 12pm onwards the red and black umbrella is host to an open meeting of people interested in renewable energies, sustainable living and other environmental issues.

It is a space for open discussion about issues and ideas, as well as learning about and putting into practice many concepts and designs.

Tea and coffee facilities will be available for people to use, as well as the tools and workspace that the center has.

Specific topics may be highlighted on certain weeks and we will try to keep them updated online.
